Join The Good Morning Gwinnett Book Club

Over the holidays I had some time to reflect on my life and my business. One of the things I used to love to do was to read. The fast few years have been so busy for me, that I haven’t made time to read. I decided that this year would be different. Now to be clear, I’m not a novel kinda girl. I love reading business books, so that’s why I decided to launch the GMGBC (Good Morning Gwinnett Book Club). I figured this way I could go back to doing something that I love, but also still having a business focus.

My First Book Club Book Of The Year

So, one of my goals for 2023 was to grow my YouTube channel. I was doing some updates to all of my YouTube accounts and what I discovered made me want to puke. You can check out the video here. The book I’m reading right now is Create Something Awesome by Roberto Blake. I met Roberto at Podfest a couple of years ago and he spent about 2 hours sitting in the hallway talking to us about YouTube and how to grow your channel. Because of his expertise in the YouTube space and the interaction I had with him, it only made sense for me to buy his new book to help me grow my YouTube channel.

My First Night Of Reading

I started the book last night as I wind down for the day. I enjoyed Roberto’s story about how he got started in the industry. I thought was really helpful, was his point of view about where he started from and where people can start from today. When he started, there weren’t all of the amazing resources and tools available like the ones we have today. So anyone looking to get started now has a huge advantage verses what it was back in the early 2000s.

That being said, there is so much information out there it’s hard to figure out where to start. I met Roberto in person, so that was an easy answer for me. After listening to him talk for a couple of hours I could see that not only did he know his shit, but he was extremely passionate about the YouTube industry.
