Electric Department Director Position – City of Lawrenceville

The City of Lawrenceville is actively seeking a highly qualified Electric Department Director. This leadership role is essential to the city, focusing on the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the electric utility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will excel in developing leaders, managing projects that align with the City’s goals, and demonstrating expertise in electrical systems, public administration, and strategic planning.

Key Qualifications:

  • Leadership & Team Building: Strong leadership, multitasking, and team-building skills are required.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, substation operations, and regulatory compliance is a must.
  • Administrative Proficiency: Experience in public administration, budgeting, contract management, and Georgia’s electric infrastructure is necessary.
  • Strategic Skills: Proficiency in strategic planning, communication, and relevant software tools is essential.

Responsibilities:

The Electric Department Director provides oversight and direction in areas such as safety, engineering, construction, maintenance, reliability, and service restoration. Key duties include:

  • Managing all aspects of the department’s operations and ensuring adherence to City policies and standards.
  • Supervising departmental staff, including Assistant Electric Director, Linemen, and administrative personnel.
  • Overseeing engineering, construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution lines and equipment.
  • Ensuring reliable and compliant electrical service delivery.
