Gwinnett County Expands Food Distribution Efforts
Food insecurity remains a growing concern across the county. According to local estimates, more than 90,000 Gwinnettians are currently facing uncertainty due to service disruptions in federal nutrition assistance programs, in addition to federal workers experiencing gaps in pay.
Under the leadership of Nicole Love Hendrickson, Gwinnett County recently announced a $250,000 donation of food and hygiene products to six local cooperative ministries. The donation is intended to provide support during this period of increased need and into the holiday season.
County leaders say safe and nutritious food is essential for an active and healthy life. Through partnerships with civil organizations, cooperative ministries, and volunteers, the County has developed a comprehensive approach to provide immediate relief while strengthening long-term food access.
