Centerville is an unincorporated community in Gwinnett County, located south of Snellville around the intersection of State Routes 124 and 264. Unlike Gwinnett’s 16 incorporated cities, Centerville has no city government of its own — it’s governed directly by Gwinnett County.

Centerville is one of several unincorporated areas that Gwinnett County calls out by name, even though it has no separate municipal government, mayor, or city council. Residents of Centerville are represented directly by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners rather than a city council.
Community Resources
Centerville is served by Gwinnett County Public Schools and is home to the Centerville branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library, which shares a building with the Centerville Community Center. The area is a short drive from Snellville’s Towne Green and the Grove at Towne Center.
History
Centerville had its own post office from 1878 to 1903 and was once known by the name “Sneezer.” Today it’s best known as a residential community rather than a commercial hub.
