October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I know something about being informed and the importance of getting a mammogram annually. My mom had breast cancer twice and because of early detection she survived both bouts. That’s not always the case. Many women don’t understand the importance of early detection, which could mean the difference between life and death. Those of us who do understand the importance get lost in the fear of finding out or just the focus on grinding that we forget how important selfcare is.
The Ivy League of South Gwinnett Foundation, Inc. and the members of Alpha Alpha Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. invite you to participate in the Tiffany Parker Porter 5K Run/Walk.
Join us in person or virtually as we honor the incredible life and legacy of Tiffany Parker Porter as well as individuals in our community and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. Walkers, runners, and volunteers will come together to bring awareness about reducing cancer risk and raise money for the Tiffany Parker Porter Scholarship.
