Last week, Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, on behalf of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, recognized two important observances: National Caregivers Month and Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
November’s theme for National Caregivers Month, “Plug-in to Care,” underscores the importance of connecting caregivers with meaningful resources, support systems, and tools that help them reduce stress and maintain their own well-being. Gwinnett County remains committed to honoring the invaluable contributions of family caregivers and to working toward a future where every caregiver receives the same level of support and compassion they give so selflessly to others.
During the same meeting, the Chairwoman also highlighted Lung Cancer Awareness Month, bringing attention to the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Georgia and across the United States—claiming more lives each year than breast, prostate, and colon cancers combined.
Residents are encouraged to learn more about lung cancer risks, support those affected, and promote early detection and treatment throughout the community.
Together, these recognitions emphasize Gwinnett County’s ongoing commitment to health, awareness, and the well-being of all who call this community home.
