In a heartfelt celebration on Tuesday, Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, representing the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, praised the tremendous impact of volunteers across the county. The recognition comes during National Volunteer Week, observed April 20–26, as the county highlights the success and growth of its Volunteer Gwinnett program.

In 2024 alone, Volunteer Gwinnett engaged 51,327 volunteers, who contributed over one million service hours. These dedicated individuals completed 11,583 service projects, partnered with 34 new Gwinnett Serves nonprofits, and organized 51 mobile food distributions, reinforcing the community’s strong spirit of service.

“This level of engagement is a testament to the power of community,” said Chairwoman Hendrickson. “Volunteers play an essential role in helping us deliver high-quality services and programs that make Gwinnett a great place to live.”

Volunteer Gwinnett is a countywide initiative that connects residents with meaningful service opportunities. From one-time events to long-term commitments, the program offers a variety of ways for individuals to give back—no matter their schedule or skill set.

Residents interested in joining the movement and making a difference are encouraged to visit VolunteerGwinnett.net for more information and to sign up.

As the county continues to grow, so does the need for passionate individuals willing to serve. Gwinnett County’s volunteers are not only helping others—they’re shaping a stronger, more connected community for all.
