Site Development Begins at First Avenue & Main Street

Old Town Lilburn is entering an exciting new phase of growth and revitalization as site development officially moves forward at the First Avenue and Main Street assemblage. This transformative project—made possible through a public-private partnership led by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA)—marks a significant investment in the future of the community.

A Decade in the Making

Over the last ten years, the Lilburn DDA carefully assembled five parcels at the southwest corner of First Avenue and Main Street. Today, those efforts have resulted in a prime 2.61-acre site ready for redevelopment and new energy in the heart of Old Town.

At the August 12, 2024 City Council meeting, the DDA secured approval for a thoughtfully designed mixed-use project. The vision:

  • Commercial space along Main Street to support local shops, dining, and services.
  • Residential units along Velva Way to bring more residents into the walkable downtown area.

A Letter of Intent has already been signed with Vision Home Crafters to take on the residential component of the project, while the search continues for the right commercial partner to help shape Main Street’s next evolution.

Construction Timeline

Crews from Lewis Contracting Services began site development in early November. This phase—focused on grading, utility preparation, and foundational infrastructure—will continue through mid-summer 2026.

Once site development is complete, vertical construction on the residential units will begin. Early interest in these future homes has already been reported by Vision Home Crafters.

Conceptual Designs & Flexibility

As with any major development, plans and renderings are conceptual and subject to change. Field conditions, utility placement, permitting, and the final construction documents may all influence the final look and layout of the project. Still, the overall vision remains steady: to bring fresh investment, activity, and vitality to Old Town Lilburn.

A Collaborative Path Forward

This project is another example of a successful public-private partnership aimed at strengthening the community’s economic landscape. The City of Lilburn and the DDA will continue to provide updates as progress is made.

Residents, businesses, and interested homebuyers are encouraged to follow the project’s evolution. For more information or inquiries about residential opportunities, contact development@cityoflilburn.com.

Old Town Lilburn is growing—and this project is just the beginning. Stay tuned as First and Main transforms into a dynamic new destination for living, dining, and gathering.
