So, you know how you’re not supposed to blurt out secrets in the group chat? Yeah, someone should’ve reminded Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Word on the street (or rather from a U.S. official who wasn’t supposed to say anything out loud) is that the White House is hunting for someone new to run the Pentagon.

Why? Because Pete allegedly shared some top-secret military info in a Signal chat with his wife, his brother, and — plot twist — his lawyer. Not exactly the National Security Dream Team.

Here’s where it gets extra spicy: Apparently, Pete didn’t just drop sensitive updates once. He also accidentally included a journalist in another group chat where he shared step-by-step details about an upcoming airstrike in Yemen. Yes, before it happened. Yes, that’s bad. Think: “oops, might’ve just risked some pilots’ lives” bad.

Now, the White House insists everything’s cool. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt swears President Trump is totally Team Pete, even tweeting, “He stands strongly behind him.” Trump himself brushed off the whole thing like it was a pesky mosquito, calling the leaks “a waste of time” and adding, “He’s doing a great job — ask the Houthis.”

Pete, meanwhile, tried to clap back at an Easter event (nothing says “resolving national controversy” like bunnies and jellybeans). He blamed “disgruntled former employees” and said the media is out to get him. Classic playbook stuff.

And about those former employees? Four top Pentagon folks just ghosted their jobs — one even wrote a spicy op-ed saying the place is basically a “meltdown machine.” Three others were shown the door and accused of leaking info. Their response? A very professional “WHAT LEAK?” post on X.

They all claim they served honorably and know the value of keeping secrets… which is kind of ironic given the current mess.

Meanwhile, Senator Jeanne Shaheen chimed in with a mic drop of her own, suggesting maybe — just maybe — putting a former weekend TV host in charge of the world’s most powerful military wasn’t the best plan.

Moral of the story? Think twice before hitting “send,” especially if it’s the Pentagon you’re texting from.
