🚨 5 AM Wednesday (1/8) Update
A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for most of north Georgia, including metro Atlanta, from 7 AM Friday to 7 AM Saturday. Residents should prepare for significant snow, sleet, and freezing rain, which will make travel hazardous. Updated forecasts indicate an increasing likelihood of impactful winter weather beginning Friday morning and continuing into Saturday. Gwinnett Warming Stations will be open.

What You Need to Know About the Forecast

The latest predictions suggest the greatest chances for all snow are across north Georgia, with metro Atlanta likely experiencing snow mixed with freezing rain. Temperatures are expected to drop below 35 degrees, further exacerbating the situation.

Warming Stations Open in Gwinnett County

In response to the freezing temperatures, Gwinnett County is opening five warming stations to provide temporary, overnight relief for residents in need. These facilities will be available nightly from 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM while temperatures remain at or below 35 degrees.
