From the Friday night lights in Snellville to the bright lights of the NFL, Jasheen Davis is officially taking his talents to the Big Easy.
The New Orleans Saints have signed former Wake Forest defensive standout and Snellville native Jasheen Davis as an undrafted free agent, giving the Georgia-bred edge rusher his shot at the pros. The announcement came as the Saints revealed their list of rookie signings following the 2025 NFL Draft.
Davis, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 270 pounds, had a stellar career at Wake Forest where he earned his reputation as a quarterback’s worst nightmare. Over five seasons with the Demon Deacons, he racked up 25.5 career sacks—good for third all-time in school history—and 51 tackles for loss, placing him second in program history. In his senior year alone, he logged 33 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and a forced fumble across 10 starts.
Known for his explosive first step and relentless pursuit, Davis’s path to the NFL has been defined by grit and growth. From his high school days at Shiloh High to anchoring Wake Forest’s defense, the Snellville native has consistently proven he can deliver under pressure.
Davis joins a group of 11 rookies signed by the Saints after the draft, which includes athletes from powerhouse programs like Alabama, Tennessee, and Notre Dame. While going undrafted can be daunting, Davis now has the opportunity to earn a roster spot and bring his hard-hitting edge presence to the Saints’ defensive line.
His journey from Snellville to New Orleans is already inspiring fans back home who are proud to see one of their own break through to the next level.
As training camp approaches, all eyes in Snellville will be on #JDavis, hoping he makes a name for himself in the NFL just as he did in Gwinnett County.
