Autonomous Shuttle Launches in Peachtree Corners In Peachtree Corners, Georgia, a new autonomous shuttle service is set to begin next week, marking a significant advancement in smart city transportation. Powered by T-Mobile US’ 5G network, the service will operate in partnership with autonomous driving technology provider May Mobility. The autonomous shuttle, a Toyota Sienna Autono-MaaS vehicle, will serve an eight-stop route covering hotels, retail shops, offices, restaurants, Peachtree Corners’ City Hall, and the Innovation Center at Curiosity Lab.

The shuttle, designed for convenience and efficiency, will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, accommodating up to four passengers. Rides can be easily booked on-demand through an app, offering a seamless transportation experience for the general public.

Peachtree Corners: A Hub for Autonomous Innovation Peachtree Corners, one of the nation’s first smart city environments powered by real-world connected infrastructure and T-Mobile’s 5G technology, continues to lead in the deployment of innovative mobility solutions. The partnership with May Mobility marks the company’s first deployment in Georgia, bringing cutting-edge autonomous vehicles (AVs) to the city.

Brian Johnson, Peachtree Corners City Manager, expressed excitement over the new service. “We have been able to demo, test, and deploy multiple autonomous vehicle solutions since we opened in 2019, and we are excited to welcome May Mobility to Peachtree Corners and Georgia,” Johnson said. He also emphasized the city’s ongoing efforts to provide autonomous mobility options to residents and visitors, noting that May Mobility’s on-demand shuttle service will enhance connectivity within the community. The plan is to gradually extend the route to include Peachtree Corners’ Town Center.

Expanding the Future of Autonomous Transportation The partnership with May Mobility is part of a broader effort to integrate autonomous vehicle technology into everyday life. Peachtree Corners is positioning itself as a leader in this space, leveraging its advanced 5G infrastructure to test and deploy AV solutions that improve urban mobility. The introduction of May Mobility’s shuttle is another milestone in the city’s commitment to fostering smart transportation solutions that benefit both residents and visitors.

Peachtree Corners isn’t the only location where autonomous transportation is making strides. May Mobility recently completed testing of 11-passenger autonomous shuttles at Mississippi State University, offering rides to students, faculty, and guests as part of a pilot program running through mid-November.

With these advancements, Peachtree Corners continues to set the stage for the future of autonomous vehicles, blending innovation, convenience, and connectivity through partnerships like the one with May Mobility. The autonomous shuttle service is just the beginning of what promises to be a transformative era for smart city transportation in Georgia.
