Southeast Toyota Distributors

Southeast Toyota Distributors, renowned as the world’s largest independent Toyota distributor, is expanding its operations in Atlanta, heralding the addition of a new, advanced parts distribution center (PDC) in Gwinnett. This strategic development is set to bring over 100 jobs to the area and signifies a capital investment of more than $41 million in Gwinnett County and the broader state of Georgia.

Strategic Expansion to Enhance Service Efficiency

The new facility, located in unincorporated Norcross, will play a crucial role in Southeast Toyota Distributors’ operations, enabling the company to better serve its network of 177 dealerships across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. These dealerships account for about 20% of all Toyotas sold in the U.S. The establishment of the Gwinnett-based PDC is a strategic move to enhance the distribution capabilities throughout the southeastern region.

Technological Advancements and Job Creation

Brent Sergot, president of Southeast Toyota Distributors, emphasized the importance of the new facility in improving service and efficiency. “With this cutting-edge facility, we are able to more effectively support the needs and growth of Toyota dealers in the region while providing an enhanced associate experience through the utilization of advanced technology in the workplace,” Sergot stated. This development not only aims to streamline operations but also to enrich the work environment for their team members.

Support from State and Local Leaders

The project has garnered support from local and state officials, including Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, who praised the initiative. “As a growing regional and global logistics hub, especially in the auto industry, Georgia is well-equipped to meet the demands of consumers and businesses alike with projects such as this,” Governor Kemp remarked.

Nicole Love Hendrickson, Chairwoman of the Gwinnett County Commission, also expressed her support: “Gwinnett County strives to be a place where businesses can flourish, residents can find opportunity, and industry can grow due to our highly accessible location and world-class infrastructure.”

Economic Impact and Community Development

The 453,000-square-foot facility, set to begin operations in early 2025, will significantly enhance dealership fulfillment services, improve e-commerce capabilities, and optimize logistics efficiency. The project is a collaborative effort involving key economic partners such as NAI Brannen Goddard, Georgia Power, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, and the Gateway85 Community Improvement District (CID), aimed at transforming an exurban area into a modern, technology-driven hub.

Emory Morsberger, Executive Director of Gateway85 CID, expressed excitement about the company’s presence, stating, “Their presence in our community continues to raise the bar for businesses in the region and we are excited to have them in our District.”

Andrew Hickey, Director of Economic Development for Partnership Gwinnett, highlighted the project’s alignment with Gwinnett’s industrial growth objectives, particularly in the automotive sector. “Southeast Toyota Distributors’ commitment to improving the automotive parts supply chain supports Gwinnett’s vision for the growth of this industry sector,” said Hickey.
