Real Businesses, Real Learning

Imagine running your own business while still in middle school. At Dacula Middle School, you get that chance with “Create City,” an exciting project for eighth graders.

How Create City Works

In Create City, you dream up a business idea, create your product, do market research, and even get a business license. For three whole weeks, you set up shop and sell your products to classmates.

Luxury Sips Takes Off

Taylor Jackson and Sarah Allen are already busy running their business, Luxury Sips. They sell tasty slushies, strawberry refreshers, and frappĂ©s. “We chose drinks we knew everyone would love,” says Sarah.

Wings With a Win

Nathan Ranel started Slanging Wings, a chicken wing business that quickly became popular. Nathan explains, “Nobody else sells wings here, so our only competition is ourselves!”

Encouraging Creativity

Ms. Chenita Mumpfield, the business teacher, encourages your creativity. “Be creative with what you love, even if others don’t understand it,” she advises.

Building Future Leaders

Principal Kimberly Bussey sees students demonstrating what it means to be true Falcons—Respectful, Engaged, Accountable Leaders. “Watching students excited and fully engaged in their businesses is amazing,” says Bussey.

Why Start Young?

Starting entrepreneurial education early can make a big difference. According to research, 90% of young entrepreneurs who start before age 18 become successful in their adult careers. Programs like Create City help build confidence, improve problem-solving skills, and foster teamwork and innovation.

At Dacula Middle School, Create City isn’t just fun; it’s teaching real-life business skills today.
